Domestic Adoption New Jersey
A
domestic child adoption involves adopting a child in the country
where you reside. Different types of domestic child adoption include
private adoption, relative
adoption and agency adoption, which may be an open or
closed. In an open adoption, the
birth parents and adoptive parents are identified and birth
parents usually retain some level of involvement in the life of
the child. With a closed adoption, birth parents have no contact
with the child after finalization of the adoption. These adoptions
all have different legal requirements and are handled in a
unique manner.
